Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for housekeeping staff uniforms prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Parts 12 and 13 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation of FedBizOpps (www.FBO.gov); quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The Contracting Officer for this procurement is Caroline L. Robinette and all questions shall be submitted in writing to Caroline.Robinette@va.gov. Solicitation VA-244-11-RQ-0605 is issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ). This solicitation and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-53, effective August 4, 2011. Successful offeror shall provide uniforms as described below to the James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center; 2907 Pleasant Valley Blvd; Altoona, Pennsylvania in the quantities listed in the schedule within 30 days of contract award. This is a brand name or equal requirement set aside 100% for small businesses under NAICS Code 448190, Other Clothing Stores, with a small business size standard of $19 million. Quotes are due by 11:00 a.m. ET, Thursday, September 8, 2011. Description: The James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center, Altoona, Pennsylvania has a requirement for uniforms to be worn by the medical center's male and female housekeeping staff. The medical center desires attractive, modern, fashionable two piece uniforms in a neutral/earth tone color consisting of a fitted tunic and casual pants for women and button down collared shirt and casual slacks for men. A link to the photograph of the "Velocity" uniform line by Cintas is included to this combined synopsis/solicitation as an example of the style, fit, and construction desired. Proposed items should be easy care and require little to no ironing to be presentable and shall be constructed from fabrics that stand up to frequent machine washing and drying, such as a cotton/poly blend. Uniforms that require special care such as dry cleaning will not be considered. Offerors are requested to submit samples of their proposed items color choices, and pricing by the quote due date and time. Offerors should submit samples of the small and large sizes for each item (unless directed otherwise in the "Proposal Submission" section of this document) as VA will utilize the samples to determine which items best meet VA's needs and which items will best fit a variety of people.
