- Description
- Work consists of repairing the esplanade at Lock & Dam No. 1 on the Cape Fear River that has advanced settling at the downstream end. Work includes demolition of two 6-inch thick concrete slabs. Each concrete slab is approximately 1,885 SY with one slab buried approximately 3-feet below the surface concrete slab. Demolition of existing concrete deadman that support the esplanade wing walls. Installation of temporary shoring for the esplanade wing walls until a new wing wall anchor system is constructed. Repairs to the lock wall will include: removing the existing toe drain of the lock wall, point grouting and grout injection of cracks in concrete lock wall, waterproofing the lock wall with a spray-on membrane, and installing a sheet drain and new toe drain collection system. New esplanade surface will be asphalt pavement and will include new storm water collection catch basins and pipe. The contract issued will be Firm Fixed Price. The Magnitude of Construction of this project is $500,000 - $1,000,000. The estimated period of performance for the contract is 420 days. This solicitation will be issued in electronic format only and will be available on or about 27 September 2011. The bid opening date will be specified in the solicitation when it is issued. No additional media (CD-ROM, floppy disks, faxes, etc) will be provided. This solicitation is a 100% Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Set-Aside. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 238110 - Poured Concrete Foundation and Structure Contractors and the size standard is $14,000,000.00. Paper copies of this solicitation will not be available. Other methods of requesting a package will not be honored.
