Description
This is a NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT using Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 6.302-1, for Other than Full and Open Competition and FAR Part 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The Aberdeen Installation Contracting Division, 4118 Susquehanna Avenue, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21005 has a requirement to procure the following item(s): Service extensions for the LIGHTCYCLER 2.0 INSTRUMENT - DESKTOP, serial #1406972 and the LIGHTCYCLER 1.2 INSTRUMENT (DESK), serial #1403204. Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other will satisfy the agency requirements. The Government intends to award a sole source contract to Roche Professional Services, 9115 Hague Road, PO Box 50457, Indianapolis, IN 46250-0457. The service of Roche Applied Science LightCycler instruments must be performed by Roche Diagnostics Corporation trained service engineers. The proprietary nature of the technology contained within the instrument requires that only Roche Diagnostics Corporation perform maintenance and service procedures. Additionally, specialized tools and software are required for diagnostics, repair, and calibration of these instruments. The Government will consider all responses received within 3 days after date of publication of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement no later than 11:00 AM Eastern Daylight Time, September 1, 2011. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government in future procurements. All responsible parties should submit queries to this requirement to Mr. David P. Wallace (david.p.wallace6.civ@mail.mil). This announcement is not a request for competitive proposals.
