- The Veteran Affairs Pittsburgh Health Adminstration (VAPHS) intends to place a sole source order with Perimed, Inc. for one (1) PeriCam PSI High Resolution Laser Speckle Contrast System. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 The resulting purchase order shall not exceed the simplified purchase threshold. There is only one manufacturer of laser speckle imaging device in the United States and that is Perimed. This is a unique investigative tool that is particularly useful in the study of cerebrovascular disease, such as stroke. This is the only instrument available that allows 2-dementional real time measurement of cerebral blood flow in rodents in a non-invasive manor.
