- This is a Notice of intent to award a single, firm fixed contract to The Dive Shop LLC on a sole source basis pursuant to Simplified Acquisition Procedures (FAR 13.106-1(b)). The requirement is for complete setup of diving equipment and training for five(5) divers. Due to the inherent nature of diving and the associated dangers, it is critical to have dive related equipment and training occurs locally. Based on market research, no other dive shop within 50 miles of our facility in Ocean Springs, Mississippi could meet the needs of the government. The Dive Shop LLC provides training/equipment to local federal and state government dive groups, including all local police, fire departments, local universities dive programs, and the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources. Acquiring dive equipment/training locally would enable our divers to be outfitted correctly by a professional and have on hand the necessary expertise to deal with unique problems that might arise, avoiding putting divers at unnecessary risks. We anticipate that The Dive Shop, LLC will become our primary source for maintenance training, equipment repair, and annual/periodic servicing required for dive equipment. Any vendor with the capability to meet this requirement may submit a response (via email to mary_ann_kidd@nps.gov preferred) by September 2, 2011 at 3:30 pm for consideration. In the event no response is timely received, the government will assume no other sources can meet this requirement.
