Description
The Project Manager (PM) Force XXI Battle Command Brigade and Below (FBCB2) is seeking sources for support for a Linux operating system. FBCB2 manages digital, battle command family of systems. These systems provide integrated, on-the-move, timely, relevant C2/SA information to tactical combat, combat support and combat service support commanders, leaders, and key Command and Control nodes. They are at Network Operations Centers, Command Posts, Vehicle based systems and Dismounted systems. The projected quantity of systems deployed will be up to 200,000 instances, each of these systems requires Linux operating system or equivalent. The vendor does not have direct support for these deployed systems but rather support will be provided through the PM office to suppliers (government and industry) who build and maintain these systems. The selected vendor would deliver, provide updates (includes IAVA's, bug fixes & new features) and support of Linux for a period of 5 years. Delivery and support for the operating system is expected as soon as possible but no later than 31 January, 2012. Tasks/Requirements: 1.)The vendor provides installation and basic configuration phone support oPhone support will be the next business day or sooner oPhone support will be available Monday through Friday 2.)The vendor provide installation and basic configuration web support 3.)The operating system satisfies NIAP Common Criteria Evaluation at EAL 4 or better against the following protection profiles: oLabeled Security Protection Profile oControlled Access Protection Profile 4.)The operating system is FIPS 140-2 certified cryptographic libraries, including support for DSA, ECDSA, SHA-2, RSA-2048, AES-256 in Galois Counter Mode. 5.) The operating system supports for both Discretionary Access Controls and Mandatory Access Controls. 6.)The operating system has the ability to bind and application to an incoming port, enforced with Mandatory Access Controls and labeling 7.)The vendor provides security errata for 60 months from start of the contract for the supported OS 8.)The vendor provides bug fixes for the OS for 60 months from the start of the contract 9.)The vendor provides any new release or updated version of the vendors OS free of any additional charge 60 months from the start of the contract 10.)The vendor achieves security accreditation ISO EAL level 4 or higher in future releases 11.) The OS runs on Intel X86 architecture with the following specifications as minimum: oCPU 1.1: GHZ or higher oMemory: 1 GB or higher oFile systems 40 GB or higher It should be noted that this procurement supports ongoing military activity. The Government needs to better understand what is available in industry. Sources that are interested are requested to provide a detailed white paper and include cost estimates. Responders may be provided a follow up questionnaire tailored to their response. This market survey is for information and planning purposes only, and does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP). It is not to be construed as a commitment by the U.S. Government. The U.S. Government implies no intention or opportunity to acquire funding to support current or future production efforts. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a solicitation notice will be published. No award will be made as a result of this market survey.
