- Description
- The U.S. Geological Survey, Northern Rocky Mountain Science Center has a requirement for radio transmitter tags, receivers and field support services to support their ongoing mission to prevent new species introductions and aid in an integrated approach to the eradication of established non-native species currently threatening the Great Lakes ecosystem and the Alaskan salmon fisheries. This mission is a cooperative effort by multiple agencies that currently use LOTEK radio/acoustic equipment, including the use of wireless acoustic tag systems. To ensure compatibility of tag and receiver/transmitter equipment, it is necessary to purchase the same equipment as the other cooperators are using, in particular to ensure compatibility with the acoustic MAP system. Based on information available at this time, and in accordance with 41 U.S.C. 253, implemented by FAR 6.302-1, the government considers the item specified as a sole source from Lotek Wireless Inc, 115 Pony Dr, Newmarket, Ontario, Canaca L3Y 7B5 and proposes to negotiate with that firm on that basis. However, should additional sources be identified, they will be considered. Firms who feel that they can furnish the required equipment are invited to submit in writing an affirmative response to this announcement, and such other materials which correspond to the required items stated herein. This information will be evaluated and used to determine if competitive opportunities exist. Since no solicitation document exists, requests for such documents without accompanying information will be considered non-response to this request without further consideration. Affirmative response shall be received by this office by close of business September 8, 2011 by 3:00 PM Mountain Standard Time. This notice may represent the Government's only official notice of this procurement.
