Description
This is a SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT to conduct market research for developing a procurement strategy for a possible upcoming opportunity entitled, "Lake Washington Ship Canal Monolith Erosion and Scour Repairs". The purpose of this notice is to measure the interest of Small Businesses (SB), 8(a), Small Disadvantage Business (SDB), Woman Owned Business, Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), or HUBZone prime contractor business sources and their size classifications relative to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code of 237990 "Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction" (Size Standard of $33.5 Million) for the subject opportunity. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - Seattle District requires a repair at the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks in Seattle, Washington, downstream of the spillway. The work is underwater and consists of placement of sheet piling as formwork, placement of concrete to fill the void under the monolith, placement of filter and rip rap to prevent further erosion, with work verified by multi-beam bathymetric surveys. Driving the sheet pile and placing all specified stone materials must be done from the water. Work will need to be completed under a short schedule dictated by the Lock Operation Requirements and the Fish Window. Heavy marine construction experience is required. The project is located at the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks in Seattle, Washington. REQUIREMENTS: Provide the following in response to this sources sought synopsis: 1.Three examples of past experience projects on heavy marine construction projects including sheet pile driving using vibratory and/or impact methods in water, underwater concrete placement, and placement of large rock underwater to grade within the last (5) years.
