- FEDBIZOPP Notice for Big Dye Kit The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award on a sole source basis a purchase order to Applied Biosystems Inc., Foster City, CA. The purchase order is for the purpose of providing for Big Dye reagent for DNA sequencing using the DNA Analyzer 3730. Applied Biosystems is the manufacture of DNA Analyzer 3730, already purchased by the CDC, which is only compatible with the Big Dye reagent. The authority for this sole source is FAR 6-302-1- Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The North American Industry Classification System Code is 334516. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. However, firms that believe they can provide a Big Dye reagent for DNA sequencing using the DNA Analyzer 3730 need to submit written notification of interest and capability to the Contracting Specialist within 15 days from the publication date of this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. Inquiries may be sent to Corina L.
