- Description
- The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with KNF Clean Room Products Corporation, in Ronkonkoma, NY for the purchase of Teflon Bags and Sheet. Sole Source determination is based on NIST's requirement for Fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP) Teflon bags and sheets to be used in a continuing project. KNF Cleanroom Teflon bags have been used since the beginning of the National Biomonitoring Specimen Bank (NBSB) projects in 1987 at the Gaithersburg facility and have been evaluated to meet the necessary specifications for the research project. For continuation of the project the bags and sheets must be identical to those formerly in NIST's Charlestown, SC, ISO Class 5 and 7 clean room laboratories. Delivery shall be FOB Destination, Charlestown, SC, and shall be provided at the Contractor's standard delivery schedule. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 326111, and the size standard is 500 employees. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the Government will consider responses received by August 25, 2011. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
