Description
In accordance with FAR 5.203(a), notice is hereby provided that, upon receipt of written approval, the Propulsion System Program Office, Aeronautical Systems Center, (ASC/WNW), intends to issue a request for proposal and subsequently award a sole source contract to United Technologies Corporation, Pratt & Whitney. The contract will be for the purchase of as many as ninety (90) F117-PW-100 install and/or spare engines as well as the associated data for the C-17 aircraft. This is a follow-on to contract F33657-07-D-2073. ASC/WNW plans to issue the request for proposal approximately September 2011 and award a contract by approximately June 2012. Delivery period will be approximately June 2013 through May 2016. An Ombudsman has been appointed to address concerns from offerors or potential offerors during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. The Ombudsman does not diminish the authority of the program director or contracting officer, but communicates contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate Government personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman shall maintain strict confidentiality as to the source of the concern. To address concerns only, interested parties are invited to call ASC's Ombudsman, Mr. Howard Marks, Jr. ASC/AQ, Director, Acquisition Excellence (937) 255-8642 DSN 785-8642.
