Description
Solicitation for Perimeter Fence Upgrade The Contractor shall provide all material, labor, equipment, and supervision required to remove approximately 1950 ft of existing 6 ft fence and posts to replace with 8ft fence and posts. Outriggers, horizontal posts and barbed wire to be re-utilized from existing fence as practical; broken or worn materials will be replaced. Small gate near the fire department gate will be replaced and signage on existing fence will be re-hung on the new fence. All excess dirt and debris to be removed by the contractor. Due to the fact that this is a perimeter fence, it will be important for the contractor to coordinate with security forces during construction. The Contractor will dig a minimum of four feet below the surface to set the posts in concrete in order to avoid heaving caused by frost. The Contractor will ensure that a perimeter barrier is established outside of working hours that is acceptable to Security Forces. The bottom of the chain link fence will be in contact with the ground at all locations. Construction will be in accordance with local ANG requirements and anti terrorism/force protection standards. The Contractor shall provide all material, labor, equipment, and supervision required to install arresting cabling to 4 exterior gates per the attached drawing. Due to the fact that these are perimeter gates, it will be important for the contractor to coordinate with security forces during construction. There is approximately 520 ft of arresting cable that will be added to the gates. The Contractor will re-seed the disturbed ground areas due to excavation of the anchors to promote grass growth. Note in the drawing that the top of the 1cy concrete block is located 30 inches below grade. The Contractor will coordinate work schedule with 109th Civil Engineering. All measurements are approximate; it is the Contractor's responsibility to verify accuracy of measurements. The Contractor will be responsible for the repair or replacement of any damages to Air Force property that they inflict. It is highly recommended that the Contractor attend a pre-arranged site visit prior to submitting a bid. The site visit is scheduled for 8/16/11 at 10:00am. This project is currently unfunded but we hightly anticipate it to be funded before September 30, 2011; therefore all proposals must be valid until that date.
