- THIS IS ONLY A PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE. NO RESPONSE IS REQUESTED OR DESIRED FOR THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. THE SOLICITATION PACKAGE WILL BE POSTED ON OR AFTER AUGUST 15, 2011. NO OTHER DOCUMENTS PERTAINING TO THIS SOLICITATION WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE PRIOR TO THE ABOVE REFERENCED DATE. GENERAL CONTRACT INFORMATION: This will be a Request for Quote for the supply and delivery of a 22-foot dry van body with attached hook lift skid frame for use on an existing Government-owned vehicle. Delivery will be made to Denali National Park & Preserve, Alaska. Denali Park is accessible via the Alaska Highway system and is located at Mile 237, Parks Highway. NAICS Code will be 336211 and the Small Business size standard is 1,000 employees. This acquisition is reserved for Small Business concerns and will utilize FAR Parts 12 and 13, Acquisition of Commercial Items and Simplified Acquisition Procedures, respectively. Funds are available for the proposed requirement; however, quoters are advised that the requirement(s) may be delayed, cancelled or revised at any time during the solicitation, evaluation, and/or final award process based on decisions related to DOI and NPS changes. If the requirement is cancelled; all quote preparation costs will be borne by the quoter. GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENT: Supply and deliver a 22-foot dry van with attached hook lift skid frame for use on an existing Government vehicle. The vehicle will be used to transport bulk materials within the interior of Alaska and will be operated over mountainous terrain (primarily primitive, gravel surface with soft under bedding) on grades in excess of 12%. The existing truck cab-chassis that will be carrying the 22-foot dry van is rated to a minimum 6x4 cab-chassis truck, no less than 62,000 lb GVWR (note: The truck already includes a Stellar Slider Model #: Slider 34 (Hyd) 54-inch -61.75-inch). Contractors are required to be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) government system prior to award in order to be eligible for a government contract - the link can be found at http://www.ccr.gov. We advise potential quoters to begin the registration process when they prepare their quote to ensure the registration in the CCR database is complete and in-place should they be selected for the award. In the event a quoter is not registered in CCR at the time the contracting officer is ready to award the purchase order, the contracting officer will proceed to the next eligible successful quoter. Refer to FAR 52.204-7, Central Contractor Registration, "If the Offeror does not become registered in the CCR database in the time prescribed by the Contracting Officer, the Contracting Officer will proceed to award to the next otherwise successful registered Offeror." The anticipated solicitation posting date to the NBC and Federal Business Opportunities websites will be on or about August 15, 2011 (subject to change) and quotes will be due on or about September 12, 2011 (subject to change) 2:00 PM Alaska Local Time.
