- CANEPA RANCH PLOW AND SEED RESTORATION. THE SOLICITATION FOR THIS PROJECT WILL BE POSTED WITHIN THE DAY. The purpose and intent of this solicitation is to contract conduct plowing on approximately 60 acres of pasturelands and cheatgrass infested sites within the Canepa Ranch area.. Plowing will require the operator to have a tractor with sufficient horsepower (at least 185 HP) to adequately pull a Yeoman's plow (plow will be provided). Operator will have experience pulling a Yeoman's plow which is different than many types of plows as it loosens the soil and does not till. The operator must also have experience and be familiar with Keyline plowing concepts which follows topographical contours while plowing. The operator will also need to provide personnel and equipment to conduct drill seeding on the same 60 acres that was plowed. Drill seeding equipment must be designed to handle chaffy, native grass seed to assure adequate distribution of seed. Drill seeding equipment also must have multiple attachments (10ft, 20ft, and 30ft) to meet varying seeding distribution objectives. Equipment should also have means to visually check to be sure seed is flowing from the seed box through the drop tubes into the furrow. Project Location The project is located at Canepa Ranch within the Mogul area of Reno, NV. The site is located between the Truckee River and the Steamboat Ditch near the NV Energy power plant. To access the area, exit on Westbound I-80 at Boomtown and head south toward Garson Road. Turn right on Deer Ridge Rd., Left on Ermine, Left on Mario and follow Road until it dead ends at a locked gate and turns to dirt. The legal description is T.19N. R.18E. sections 14 and 23 The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, supplies, and incidentals to perform all work necessary on the areas specified. All aspects of the work program shall be performed in an organized, systematic manner to assure services will be performed over the entire unit.
