- The National Science Foundation (NSF) intends to procure, on a sole source basis, MAX Participation and Internet2 connection services from the University of Maryland (UMD), Mid-Atlantic Crossroads (MAX). The anticipated period of performance is one year, October 1, 2011 through September 30, 2012. UMD/MAX is the only source for the required services. The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. This synopsis is for informational purposes only. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement for consideration by the agency demonstrating an ability to provide these or equivalent services. Capability statements are due to the Contracting Officer listed in this announcement no later than August 10, 2011 at 8:00 a.m. EST.
