- Description
- The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) is conducting a market survey to determine the availability and technical capability of qualified small businesses, including 8(a) small businesses, small disadvantaged businesses, woman-owned small businesses, service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses or HUBZone small businesses capable of providing the following: One Stand Alone Dual Axis Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) Tomography Holder. Shall include the following: vacuum storage container; loading stand; dual axis; clamping tool. This dual axis tomography holder shall provide the following features/capabilities: room temperature applications when in-plane rotation of the specimen (typically biological in nature: virus, cell, tissue samples) is required for imaging and/or analysis; a mechanism for ultra-precise specimen movement, yielding highly repeatable specimen rotation, while maintaining eucentric height; initial specimen rotation fully through 360 degrees; once specimen is oriented, a two-position precision mechanism shall allow a precise 90 degree in-plane rotation of the specimen; a dedicated clamping tool to maximize specimen visibility, even at high tilt angles. This request is for interested firms with the capability of providing the required laboratory equipment to submit a capability statement to assist the Government in determining in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 19.502-2(b) whether or not this procurement will be set-aside for any of the programs described above. The intended procurement will be classified under North American Industrial Classification (NAICS) code 334516 with a size standard of 500 employees. All respondents are requested to identify their firm's size and type of business. Interested firms responding to this market survey must provide a capability statement demonstrating their experience, skills and capability to fulfill the Government's requirements for the above. The capability statement shall be in sufficient enough detail, but not to exceed ten (10) pages, so that the Government can determine the experience and capability of your firm to provide the requirements above. Your capability statement should include a minimum of three references. Two (2) copies of the capability statement must be received at the following address: 6100 Executive Blvd, Suite 5Z00, Rockville, MD 20852 prior to 3:00 PM local time at designated location August 15, 2011. Capability statement must reference solicitation# NIH-NICHD-11-092. Responses by fax or e-mail WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Capability statements, etc will not be returned to firm/sender.
