Description
THE GOVERNMENT IS CANCELLING THIS ANNOUNCEMENT ADVERTISED HEREIN AND WILL BE ANNOUNCING THE PROJECT UNDER A NEW SOLICITATION TYPE; THEREFORE, CONTRACTORS SHALL LOCATE THE NOTICE FOR THIS PROJECT UNDER SOLICITATION # W912P6-11-B-0015 AT THIS SITE ON 5 AUGUST 2011. With this announcement, the Chicago District Corps of Engineers issues a Pre-solicitation Notice for its Hofmann Dam Phase II -- Section 206, Project in Riverside and Lyons, Cook County, Illinois. The Contractor will perform work including removing the dam, staging and storage of equipment and materials, development of temporary haul roads to access the Des Plaines River, placement of temporary bench and filling scour hole downstream of Hofmann Dam, notching of Hofmann Dam, debris removal from the river bed, vibration monitoring on historic structures, stabilization of the Des Plaines River banks, and potentially cofferdam installation and removal. Rip rap will be placed in the river to fill the scour trench downstream of the dam. Similarly, as the dam is removed, it is likely that the Contractor will place the dam debris into the river bed and subsequently remove it. The Classification Code for this procurement is North American Industry System (NAICS) 237990 - "Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction", this acquisition is a SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE. The Small Business Size Standard is $33.5 Million. The estimated magnitude of the proposed procurement is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The Request for Proposal (RFP) Package will be downloadable from the INTERNET ONLY. The project specification files are Portable Document Format (PDF) files and can be viewed, navigated or printed using Adobe Acrobat Reader. Interested Contractors will be able to download the RFP Package from the Internet Site -- Federal Business Opportunities. The Chicago District anticipates issuing this solicitation 15 August 2011 with bids due on 15 September 2011. In order for contractors to conduct business with the Department of Defense, the contractor must provide registration information to the Central Contractor Registration (CCR).
