- Notice of Interest Intent to Use Other Than Full and Open Competition for Leased Space The United States Government, USDA Forest Service, Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, Carson Ranger District intends to award a succeeding lease using other than full and open competition for an existing lease that houses the Jack's Valley fire station which expires May 31, 2012. The Government requires 1,278 square feet of garage, warehouse, office and related space. The space must be located in the Jack's Valley vicinity in Minden, Nevada. The Forest Service is currently negotiating a succeeding lease for 1 year firm with 9 automatic renewals; from May 15, through October 15 each year. The lease shall commence on June 1, 2012. The Forest Service will consider alternative space only if economically advantageous and will use information received from this expression of interest as a basis to determine whether to compete the lease requirement or pursue a sole source justification to remain at its current location. In making this determination, the Forest Service will consider, among other things, the availability of alternate space that potentially can satisfy the Forest Service's requirements, as well as costs likely to be incurred through relocating, such as physical move costs, replication of tenant improvements, telecommunications infrastructure, and non-productive agency downtime. Space requirements include: • Proximity near the National Forest and Hwy 395; • Parking spaces for official government vehicles - approximately 600 sq. ft. of structured (2 engine bays) and 300 sq. ft. of surface; • Office space of 96 sq. ft.; • Warehouse space of 120 sq. ft.
