- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS TO CONDUCT MARKET RESEARCH FOR DEVELOPING A PROCUREMENT STRATEGY FOR AN UPCOMING CONTRACT FOR "FY11 Duwamish River Maintenance Dredging, Seattle, Washington" THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT. Responses to the Sources Sought Synopsis should be received as soon as possible but no later than 2:00 pm (Pacific Time) on 10 August 2011. The responses should be forwarded to bonilie.l.lackey@usace.army.mil. The purpose of this notice is to gain knowledge of potentially qualified Small Businesses (SB), 8(a), Small Disadvantage Business (SDB), Woman Owned Business, Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), or HUBZone prime contractor business sources and their size classifications relative to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code of 237990, Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction. Depending upon the responses in the small business categories listed above, the solicitation will either be set aside in one of the latter categories or be issued as unrestricted open to both small and large business. The Seattle District, US Army Corps of Engineers requires maintenance clamshell dredging of approximately 150,000 cubic yards of sediment from the Duwamish River Upper Turning Basin and downstream reach (Station 275+56 to 242+00). All dredged material shall be disposed at Elliot Bay Disposal Site or beneficially reused at a nearby EPA Superfund site as capping material. Estimated dollar value is in the range of $500,000 to $1,000,000. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 237990, Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction, Dredging and Surface Cleanup Activities. For the purposes of this procurement, a firm is considered a small business if its annual average gross revenue, taken for the last 3 fiscal years, does not exceed $20 million. The Contractor is to furnish all labor, equipment, supplies, materials, supervision and other items and services necessary to accomplish the work. Estimated Award Date of the Contract is 30 September 2011 with a 31 January 2012 completion date. REQUIREMENTS: Provide the following in response to this sources sought synopsis: 1.Three examples of clamshell maintenance dredging for past projects as the Prime Contractor performed within the last three (3) years. Three examples of in-water work with discrete placement of capping material. Examples should include the following information: a.A description of the project; b.Dollar amount of the work. 2.Provide your company's CAGE code. Please note that this synopsis is for planning purposes only, and does not constitute a solicitation for competitive bids/proposals and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Corps. However, all interested parties who believe they can meet the requirements are invited to submit, in writing, complete information describing their interest and ability to meet all requirements stated above.
