- The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), Research Triangle Park, NC intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Bioneer, Inc., Alameda, CA 94501 pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1)--Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This request is one (1) each Catalog # M-3030H Schizosaccharomyces pombe (S. pombe) Haploid Deletion Mutant Set ver 3.0. This genome-wide deletion collection of viable haploids will cover more than 74% of the transcribed genome, consisting of 3576 genes. Each deletion strain has distinct barcode tags, allowing for functional analysis in a gene-specific manner and on a genome-wide scale using pools of mutants. This set of strains is necessary to investigate the genetic control of leading and lagging strand replication fidelity and the causes of toxic and mutagenic consequences of ribonucleotide incorporated into DNA during replication. This is required for ongoing genetic studies. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responses received within 8 days from the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative responses are received within 8 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, the order will be issued to Bioneer, Inc. The NAICS Code/Size is 325998/500 Employees. This procurement is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures in conjunction with FAR Part 12 Commercial Item Acquisition of Commercial Items.
