- This notice is published for informational purposes only and not as a request for competitive proposals. The Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care System James A. Haley in Tampa, FL intends to award a 'Sole Source' contract, in accordance with FAR 6.302-2, to Toshiba America. The repair of an Open Toshiba MRI in this request was awarded to Toshiba America and after the Toshiba engineers diagnosed the problem it was found that a bad cold head needs replacement. This is the component that helps super cool the helium gas to enable the magnetic field. The estimate is $33,220.00 for part and install. The repair must conform to the specifications needed to comply with exacting standards of operation and reliability to safely interface with various peripheral devices made by Toshiba America. This requirement will be classified under NAICS 811219. No solicitation document is available. Interested persons may respond to the requirement by 03:00 pm Eastern Standard Time, September 04, 2011.
