Description
SLAC seeks vendors that can provide the following: 1 Each of Long Travel Precision Magnetic Measurement Test Bench with the following specifications: • Total net travel length in Z of 6500 mm • The bench must be manufactured from one stone • Total bench length shall not exceed 8,000 mm • Make guide beam cross-section as large as reasonable, minimum of 480 mm wide, 820 mm high • The guide beam shall be made of nonmagnetic natural stone (permeability μ < 1.05). Prior to starting construction, the selected vendor shall provide a certification document verifying the permeability of the stone material. • The platform needs to be able to carry a net payload of up to 300 N. • Travel length in X as much as bench width permits, minimum of 300 mm • Travel length in Y: 150 mm or more if no loss of accuracy • The center of the Y travel must be 1400 mm above the floor • Position accuracy at probe tip required Z, X, Y: ±3 µm, ±14 µm, ±14 µm peak to peak over entire high accuracy travel path. Software corrections for errors are not allowed. • Carriage roll, pitch and yaw deviations a maximum of ±14 µrad, ±4.2 µrad and ±4.2 µrad peak to peak • Z-axis drive equipped with ironless zero-cogging linear motor with low stray field and 1 µm positioning resolution, 500 mm / s2 minimum acceleration, 8 m / min minimum speed, and motion with speed constant to 0.5%, low electrical noise drive • X, Y axes driven by motorized lead-screw with 1 µm positioning resolution, ± 2 µm relative position accuracy, and 300 mm / min minimum speed, low electrical noise drive • No stepping motors on X, Y, or Z axis • Z position measurement with incremental encoder type Heidenhain LIDA 485 or equivalent, mounting provisions are to be provided for an optional second encoder on opposite side of bench to monitor yaw rotation of carriage • X, Y axes motion measured with Heidenhain LIP 481 type encoders or equivalent • All axes are to be equipped with hard wired limit switches connected to the controllers; initialization of axes via reference marks of linear encoders or zero-point controls of circles / goniometer axes. • Perpendicularity of X and Y axes to be better than 0.01 mrad • Probe axis to be equipped with rotary stage with 0.01º resolution and 4-axes goniometer, motorized but still allow manual adjustments • Support cable carrier independent from bench on common foundation • Equip cable carrier with drive system synchronized as slave to Z-axis drive • All cables terminated in termination boxes on platform • The guide beam and the carriage have to be equipped with mechanical restraints which will prevent them from jumping off their bases in case of an earthquake • The construction has to be as much as possible non-magnetic. The use of any magnetic components, especially steel components, can be considered only after consultation • The operating temperature will be 20ºC • It must be possible to level the entire measuring bench with an accuracy of +/- 5 µrad • A computer program with a graphical user interface and a manual must be provided to run the bench in stand-alone mode • A software interface using the C programming language must be provided for all bench functions • Values for all software parameters required to program the bench must be provided THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE. VENDORS INTERESTED IN BEING CONSIDERED AS A POTENTIAL SOURCE SHOULD IDENTIFY THEMSELVES AS AN "INTERESTED PARTY" VIA THE FBO PORTAL. DO NOT CONTACT THE SUBCONTRACT ADMINISTRATOR.
