Description
This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at https://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Naval Sea Systems Command. Note: The Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport, Rhode Island is NOT accepting quotes or proposals via submission through NECO. Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport intends to place on a Sole Source basis, a Firm-Fixed Price (FFP) Purchase Order to Preece Incorporated, Lake Forest, CA 92630 for the purchase of TOMAHAWK Capsule Launching System (CLS) hose assemblies, quick disconnect couplings and hose subassemblies. The hose assembly connects between the Capsule Closure Assembly (CCA) and the submarine missile tube, and is used to pressurize the CLS All-Up-Round (AUR) while the AUR is tube-loaded. Preece Incorporated is the sole manufacturer of the coupling/fitting for the Pressure Hose Assembly, as it is the only fitting that will mate with the counterpart piece (Preece P/N 5168) which is located on the CLS AUR(s) which are already in the fleet. This acquisition will be processed using FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures. NAICS Code 332912, size standard 500 employees. Delivery required 150 days from date of Purchase Order award. The notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. All responsible sources may submit a capabilities statement which will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed acquisition based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information may be submitted via email (stephen.a.lamb1@navy.mil) or mailed to Commercial Acquisition Department, Building 11, Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Code 11912 Attention Steve Lamb, Simonpietri Drive, Newport, RI 02841. Further details will be released upon issue of RFQ # N66604-11-Q-4084, which is anticipated to be on or about 08/18/2011.
