- Synopsis: The Enterprise Sourcing Group (ESG) at Wright Patterson AFB, OH, is charged with executing installation strategic sourcing for 71 Continental United States (CONUS) Air Force bases. The ESG will host an event to inform US industry of its mission, the growing role of strategic sourcing in the US Air Force, and current and future strategic sourcing opportunities. Event Title: Enterprise Sourcing Group (ESG) Dialogue with Industry Event Theme: Strategically Partnering with Industry to Improve Efficiency Date: 25-26 Oct 2011 Location: The Hope Hotel and Conference Center Building 823, Area A Dayton, OH 45402 WPAFB, OH 45433-5000 Phone: (937) 879-2696 This event provides the unique opportunity for current and prospective suppliers to: • Learn more about the growing importance of strategic sourcing in the U.S. Air Force and the Department of Defense. • Learn about the ESG, its mission, and its role in Air Force acquisition. • Learn about current and future Air Force installation business opportunities. • Create partnerships with other USAF contractors. • Gain an understanding of the role of small business in USAF strategic sourcing. • Meet with USAF personnel who are developing commodity sourcing strategies. • Provide suggestions and input into installation sourcing strategies. • Provide suggestions for USAF cost savings opportunities in installation sourcing. The first day of this event consists of organizational and commodity council briefings. The second day offers opportunities for meetings between industry, commodity sourcing managers and squadron representatives. The Enterprise Sourcing Group (ESG) is responsible for the oversight, management and execution of CONUS installation enterprise-wide strategic sourcing and acquisition solutions. Strategic sourcing initiatives include Air Force acquisition of the following products and services: civil engineering, force protection, information technology, medical service, furnishings (office and dormitory furniture), office supplies, fitness equipment, domestic shipping, and advisory and assistance services. In addition to strategic sourcing, ESG manages enterprise-wide operational installation contracting support for the Air Force Center for Engineering and the Environment (AFCEE), Air Force Civil Engineering Support Agency (AFCESA), Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC), Air Force Medical Support Agency (AFMSA) and Air Force Medical Operations Agency (AFMOA). This Industry Outreach Event is primarily intended to introduce the Enterprise Sourcing Group to industry.
