- The Little Carver stewardship project would use contract service work to remove or masticate the unwanted pre-merchantable and small diameter ponderosa pine trees (2.0 - 9.9 inches DBH), while removing the excess larger diameter sawtimber trees (>= 10.0 inches DBH) via traditional timber harvest methods. This APPENDIX-A describes the contract requirement and specifications for services for a performance based, fixed price contract for thinning and/or hazardous fuel removal treatments affecting targeted or designated 2.0" - 9.9" ponderosa pine trees. This work may consist of a combination of either felling and slashing, masticating, and/or logging and decking designated trees in order to reduce hazardous fuel loads and improve the health and vigor of the residual forest stand. The harvest of the designated large diameter sawtimber trees (>= 10.0 inches DBH) is covered under the attached APPENDIX-B Timber Removal Specifications. The solicitation for this project will only be made available through the Federal Business Opportunities website - www.fbo.gov. This project is open to small and large business concerns.
