- The 902d Contracting Squadron at Randolph AFB intends to award a contract on a Sole-Source basis for the purchase of items listed in the Description of Supplies. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source, however interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit quotes. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, all quotes received by the closing date of this notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The clauses and incorporated provisions of this document are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circulars 2005-53 The NAICS Code is 327910; size standard is 500 employees. A Firm Fixed Priced Award will be in accordance with the following: DESCRIPTION OF SUPPLIES/SERVICES Following items will be provided: CLIN: 0001 Description: ADM GPX, Starch-g Acrylic Blast Media, Packaged in 300# plastic drums, 4 per pallet. 30,000# 100-300#drums w/turn-key recycling service. Includes media inbound freight to Randolph, freight to our recycling facility and recycling service. SOLE SOURCE JUSTIFICATION: GPX, MIL-P-8589, Type VII is a hybrid blasting media that combines acrylic plastic with corn starch. The media is softer and less aggressive than plastic (Type V) media. The Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) company is the only known manufacturer of GPX Type VII. Midvale Industries is the only authorized distributor for ADM GPX. AETC plans to use this product to strip all assigned aircraft. 12FTW/MXM is mandated to use this type of blasting media.
