Description
This Small Business Sources Sought Notice is for information and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation or commitment by the Government. This notice is intended strictly for Market Research. The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases is conducting a market survey to determine the availability and technical capability of qualified small business, veteran-owned small business, service-disabled veteran-owned small business or HUBZone small businesses capable of providing clinical research training program in Gastroenterology and clinical consultation. The clinical research training program in Gastroenterology and clinical consultation service are part of the NIH Digestive Diseases Branch (Intramural) Research Program. This training program accepts two medical doctors each year who have finished advanced training in medicine and then want to pursue a career in academic gastroenterology. The Clinical Center Consultation Service in Gastroenterology is consulted for assistance on GI-related disorders approximately 20 times per week by various other NIH departments for patients they are following on their protocols at the NIH. More than 90 percent of these consultations require endoscopic procedures, some of which have to be done on an emergency basis. These consultations require the constant availability of state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy services and frequently high-risk procedures in seriously ill patients. The Gastroenterology Fellowship Program is part of the NIDDK Digestive Diseases Branch, Intramural Research Program and consists of two medical doctors accepted into the program each year who have finished advanced training in medicine and then want to pursue a career in academic Gastroenterology. It is essential that an individual who enters this program can obtain subspecialty boards by completing his/her training in a certified program. To meet the board certification requirements, it is necessary for the NIH GI training program to be part of an established board-certified training program. All respondents are requested to identify their firms size and type of business. Interested firms responding to this market survey must provide (a) capability statement demonstrating their experience, skills and capability to fulfill the Governments requirements for the above. The capability statement shall be in sufficient enough detail, but not to exceed 15 pages, so that the Government can determine the experience and capability of your firm to provide the requirements above and should include references. A copy of the capability statement must be received at the address identified in this synopsis no later than August 1, 2011 and must reference Solicitation number NIHLM2011170. For questions regarding this solicitation please send via email to griffin@mail.nih.gov. Responses by fax or e-mail WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
