- This Request For Information (RFI) is issued solely for market research, planning, and information purposes and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to enter into a contractual agreement, nor will the Government pay for any effort expended in responding to this notice. This RFI is only to locate interested sources with current capability or the desire to stand up the capability to manufacture a C5 Bogie Center Beam. There are no current requirements for this item but it is expected to be required in the near future. This RFI is issued solely for market research and to obtain information that will aid the Government in future planning and acquisition of the item. Background: The Air Force recently lost it's only manufacturing source for the C-5 Bogie Beam, NSN 1620-00-242-9822, Part Number 4G12011-105A, and is conducting market research to find companies that have the capability or are willing to stand up the capability to manufacturer the item when it is required in the near future. The Bogie Beam is a large fairly complex item that has a unique welding specification that must be met. No Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) will be provided to meet this task. Requested Information: Interested parties responses must include time frame required to stand up said capability and a Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) to include costs and any assumptions. Specific details on how welding specification, STP55-503 will be met must also be included in your response.
