Description

Community Living Center, Phase III, VA Project No. 529-312-The VA Medical Center, Butler, PA is anticipating a solicitation will be issued, 100% set-aside for service disabled veteran owned small business, for the Community Living Center, Phase III. Contractor shall completely prepare site for building operations, including demolition and removal of existing structures, and furnish labor and materials and perform work for Community Living Center, Phase III, VA Project No. 529-312, at the VA Medical Center, 325 New Castle Road, Butler PA, 16001, as required by drawings and specifications. The projected bid items are as follows: BASE BID: Work includes, but is not limited to, the construction of a new additions (Phase III) to the existing Community Living Center (Phase I and II) consisting of an addition of two, fifteen bed, Patient Units, common areas, and support spaces, as well as site work. General Construction includes, but is not limited to, general construction, earth moving, concrete paving, planting, site improvements, HVAC, plumbing, fire protections, communications, electronic safety and security, storm drainage, sanitary sewer, water service, natural gas service, exterior electrical work, and removal of certain existing site improvements. BID ALTERNATE NO. 1: Same as Base Bid, except delete Atrium W129 and Attic Access W129.1, as indicated. Terminate utility lines as indicated. Delete and add site improvements as indicated. BID ALTERNATE NO. 2: Same as Alternate No. 1, except delete rooms numbered W118 through W122.1, as indicated. Terminate utility lines as indicated. Delete and add site improvements as indicated. BID ALTERNATE NO.3: Same as Alternate No. 2, except delete Rooms numbered E117 through E121.1, as indicated. Terminate utility lines as indicated. Delete and add site improvements as indicated. Solicitation VA-244-11-IB-0075 will be available on or about August 9, 2011. Bid Opening Date will be specified in the solicitation, Bldg. #1, Rm 333W. Pre-bid conference is tentatively scheduled for August 18, 2011, at 10:00 A.M. location to be specified in the solicitation, VA Medical Center, Butler, PA 16001. All respondents must be registered in CCR data base, see http://ccr.gov and complete online Reps and Certs at http://orca.bpn.gov, along with Vets 100 at http://vets.dol.gov/vets100/. All contractors must be registered in vetbiz at http://www.vetbiz.gov. Amendments to the solicitation will be posted at this website only. All respondents must obtain amendments at this website, hard copies will not be mailed. All questions must be submitted in writing, email or by mail to the issuing office by the date specified in the solicitation prior to bid opening. NAICS Code is 236220, and is applicable to this acquisition with a Business Size Standard of $33.5 million. Magnitude of construction is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. Time for completion is 345 calendar days from notice to proceed for the base bid; 330 calendar days for bid alternate 1; 315 calendar days for bid alternate 2; and 300 calendar days for bid alternate 3; depending on the award item selected. This is a total service disabled veteran owned small business set-aside.
