- This Small Business Sources Sought Notice is for information and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation or commitment by the Government. The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Library of Medicine, NIDDK Acquisitions Branch is conducting a market survey to determine the availability and technical capability of qualified small business, veteran-owned small business, service-disabled veteran-owned small business or HUBZone small businesses capable of providing Brand Name or Equal to the AKTA Purifier 10 Liquid Chromatography System for Protein Purification with the following specifications: 18672700 PUMP AKTA P-960, Unicorn V4.12 or high18608300 Fraction Collector FRAC-950; FRAC-950 Fraction Collector is an automated fraction collector for use with AKTA design chromatography systems. It is fully controlled from Unicorn (v.3.2 or later) software. Fractionation can be done in time, volume or peak fractionation. The nozzle capillary delivering the eluent is fixed. The rack holding the collection vessels is moved by rotating plate and arm to position the vessels under the capillary tip for collection. The moving pattern can be selected to collect row to row, column to column, row serpentine or column serpentine. One rack Type A 120X18MM tubes or 8X30MM tubes) is included with the fraction collector. The pressure and flow rate specifications make the system ideal for laboratory purification and high resolution analysis. The AKTA purifier 10 with Laptop Control includes: -Model P-903 system pump with four pump heads in two pump modules-Model M-925 mixer for precision gradient formation.-Model UV-900 variable, multiwavelength UV-Vis detector, 190-700nm-One INV-907 injection valve-Control Box CU-950-Accessory Kit-Box-900-Unicorn software package-Laptop Control Unit-System start-up included 28406264 -AKTA PURIFIER 10 AKTA purifier 10 is a chromatography system with flow rates of 0.001 to 10 ml/min at pressures up to 25 MPa. The pressure and flow rate specifications make the system ideal for laboratory purification and high-resolution analysis. The AKTA purifier 10 system includes:-Model P-903 system pump with four pump heads in two pump modules-Model M-925 mixer for precision gradient formation-Model UV-900 variable, multiwavelength UV-Vis detector, 190-700nm.-One INV-907 injection valve-Control Box CU-950-Accessory Kit-Bos-900-Unicorn software package-System start-up included 13897501- HP ELITEBOOK 8740W, WIN XP The equal item must meet the characteristics of the brand name item to be acceptable for award. Basis for award: Offerors must provide descriptive or other material that demonstrates their offer meets the foregoing requirements. The contract shall be awarded to the responsible offeror whose offer fully meets the requirements of the solicitation, provides the best value, with price and technical factors equally important in award evaluation. Interested firms with the capability of providing the required items are requested to submit a capability statement to assist the Government in determining in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 19.502-2(b) whether or not this procurement will be set-aside for any of the programs described above. The intended procurement will be classified under North American Industrial Classification (NAICS) code 334516 with a business size standard of 500 employees. All respondents are requested to identify their firms size and type of business. Interested firms responding to this market survey must provide a capability statement demonstrating their experience, skills and capability to fulfill the Governments requirements for the above. The capability statement shall be in sufficient enough detail, but not to exceed 15 pages, so that the Government can determine the experience and capability of your firm to provide the requirements above. Your capability statement, not to exceed 15 pages, should include references. Three (3) copies of the capability statement must be received at the address identified in this synopsis by no later than 10 days prior to 12:00 Noon local time at designated location on August 1, 2011. After a review of the responses received, a pre-solicitation synopsis and solicitation may be published in Federal Business Opportunities. However, responses to this notice will not be considered adequate response to a solicitation.
