- The NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Norfolk (FLCN), Contracting Department, Philadelphia Office, intends to acquire laundry services in support Walter Reed National Military Medical Center Bethesda. The services are to launder, wash, and exchange various types of linen items. Services also include linen exchange such as medical and dental uniform exchange. Participating facilities may include animal care facilities, healthcare clinics, hospitals, medical centers, dental clinics, emergency rooms, laboratories and all other healthcare related operations. The contractor provides all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, facilities, supervision, transportation and other necessary services to perform the proper linen cleaning and exchange. FLCN ™s intent is to process this procurement on a sole source basis to Nutech Laundry & Textiles, Inc, Hyattsville, Maryland. Nutech currently performs these services at the National Naval Medical Center Bethesda, MD. FLCN ™s intent is to increase the capacity of laundry serviced by Nutech with the period of performance starting 01 October 2011 and continuing through 30 September 2012 to cover the additional laundry produced caused by the BRAC of Walter Reed Army Hospital and the National Naval Medical Center Bethesda. The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. Interested offerors may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit a capability statement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all capability statements received by 28 July 2011 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
