Description
Sandia National Laboratories, the lead research and development laboratory for the Department of Energy's physical security programs, is available to respond as a business partner for the NASA Broad Agency Announcement NNC11ZMA017K for a solar electric propulsion demonstration study and follow-on work. This includes, but is not limited to the application, development, licensing, and deployment of solar power conversion for electric propulsion technologies suitable for an electric propulsion spacecraft. Sandia is seeking a company or companies who are responding to BAA NNC11ZMA017K to partner with them on the proposal and to cooperatively develop and commercially license the technology described in this posting and expects the successful company/companies to engage in the creation of a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) or other working relationship with Sandia to further develop the technology. Commercial licensees will have the opportunity to obtain a license to the intellectual properties. It is expected that the company(ies) that works with Sandia to develop the solar power conversion for electric propulsion technology will promptly incorporate it into a commercial product. Potential partners must provide Sandia information describing their ability to research, design, develop, distribute, and market the solar power conversion for electric propulsion Technology The technology to be supplied by Sandia includes: Solar photovoltaics, solar Stirling engines, solar closed Brayton cycle, solar heat exchangers, solar thermal storage, solar power testing and test facilities, and other related solar energy technologies. To express interest in this opportunity, please respond by mail to Ronald Lipinski by August 3, 2011 at: Sandia National Laboratories, MS 0747, PO Box 5800, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87185, email: rjlipin@sandia.gov, phone: 505.845.7311. Please indicate the date and title of the FBO notice. Include company and contact information as well as a description of how your company meets Sandia's criteria and could best contribute to the formation of a CRADA or license and subsequent commercialization of this technology. Sandia National Laboratories is a multi-program laboratory managed and operated by Sandia Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lockheed Martin Corporation, for the U.S. Department of Energy's National Nuclear Security Administration under contract DE-AC04-94AL85000.
