- It is the intent of the US Army Corps of Engineers, Detroit District, to award a sole source firm-fixed price contract for maintenance and repair of a Unitrol F Static Exciter to ABB Inc., Saint-Laurent, Quebec Canada. ABB Inc. is the manufacturer and only authorized source for maintenance and repair of the Unitrol F Static Exciter, to perform on-site performance review inspections, firmware upgrades, and performance reviews in order to detect, prevent and fix the most common problems that might cause the excitation systems to fail. The exciter and its associated replacement parts are specialized proprietary equipment. ABB Inc. is the manufacturer and installer of the Unitrol F Static Exciter for Hydropower Generator Units. Any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting this requirement may submit a capability statement not-to-exceed two pages to LRE-Quotes@usace.army.mil by the response date stated on this notice. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
