Contracting Office: Erie VA Medical Center, 135 East 38th Street, Erie, PA 16504 Point of Contact: Jennifer Balsiger, Contract Specialist, Jennifer.balsiger2@va.gov Set-aside Status: Service Disabled, Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) NAICS: 562112, Hazardous Waste Collection; Small Business Size Standard: $12.5M Proposed Solicitation: VA-244-11-RQ-0392; Tentative Posting on FBO: August 1, 2011; Tentative Closing on FBO: August 15, 2011 Subject: Removal of HAZMAT Materials; One year plus four option periods Description: Contractor shall provide services to Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Centers in Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) #4, for the disposal and/or recycling of hazardous and specialized waste materials. VISN 4 includes all of Pennsylvania and parts of West Virginia and Delaware. The contract does not include disposal of infectious or radioactive wastes. Specific waste materials to be removed include the following. This list is not final and may be revised. "Ignitable Wastes "Solvents, Non-Chlorinated, Packed Drums "Solvents, Chlorinated, Packed Drums "Bulk Waste Laboratory Solvents such as 10% formalin, waste alcohol, boric acid, acetonitrile, methanol, etc. "Acids/Bases (Corrosives), Packed Drums "Bulk Acids/Bases "Organic Wastes, Solid and Liquid, Regulated "Heavy Metals and Inorganic Wastes (Solid and Liquid), Regulated "Poisons, Liquid and Solid, Landfill-Banned Materials "Oxidizers "Non-regulated Inorganic and Organic Compounds (Solids and Liquids) "Compressed Gases Aerosol Containers of Compressed Gases of all Hazard Classes "Reactive Material "Mercury in Solid or Liquid Form and Mercury Contaminated Materials such as broken Thermometers, Sphygmomanometers, Barometers, etc. "Pesticides "Testing for Unknowns "PCB Liquid "Antifreeze Solutions "Waste Motor Oil "Batteries "Fluorescent Tubes "Disposal of Asbestos or Asbestos Containing Materials "Mace "Chemist (For testing for Unknowns) "Overpack "Deregulated Scintillation Vials Please contact Jennifer Balsiger with any questions or concerns.
