- The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) invites you to participate in a stakeholder teleconference and Twitter Chat regarding mobile medical applications. The stakeholder teleconference will be held Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at 12:00 noon ET, and consist of a brief presentation by Bakul Patel, MSEE, MBA, Policy Advisor, Center for Devices and Radiological Health, FDA, followed by a question and answer session. The moderator for the teleconference will be Lawrence Bachorik, Assistant Commissioner, Office of External Relations, Office of External Affairs, FDA. Stakeholders may participate by dialing 888-810-4794 or for international stakeholders, 1-212-287-1829. The passcode for all callers is "FDA1." A replay of the briefing will be available about one hour after the call ends until July 26, 2011, by calling 888-568-0616, or for international callers, 1-402-998-1519. We also invite you to participate in a Twitter Chat with FDA on mobile medical applications on Tuesday, July 19, at 3:00 PM ET. You do not need a Twitter account to view the chat; however, if you would like to participate in the chat (i.e., ask questions, respond to questions, etc.), you will need to have a Twitter account. How to Monitor the Chat without a Twitter Account : If you would like to monitor the Twitter chat and you do not wish to create a Twitter account, simply go to www.search.twitter.com. Type in the search engine "#FDAApps" and press enter. You will get a live feed of all of the questions and responses that include the hashtag "#FDAApps". How to Set Up a Twitter Account : 1. Go to www.twitter.com 2. Click on the link that says "Sign Up" 3. Follow the instructions to create a Twitter account Participate in the Twitter Chat with FDA : FDA will be tweeting with the hashtag "#FDAApps." Every tweet that FDA will publish and respond to will have to have #FDAApps somewhere in the tweet (either beginning or end) in order for us to see it and respond to it accordingly.
