Description
This is the PDF document of the RFI, with all specifications listed. Notice Type: Sources Sought - Request for Information (RFI) 1.0. Synopsis: The United States Air Force (USAF) is requesting information from interested parties on a multi-touch wall screen, which will be used for displaying test bed configurations from video feeds coming from computers. The touch-wall will be replacing a 4'x8' whiteboard that is used for manually generating test bed diagrams using a Microsoft application. The touch-wall will allow testers to build a drawing and produce real-time diagrams without having to manipulate the drawing at all. Currently, the USAF is conducting market research for companies that provide display screens with multi-touch technology, that will meet the below specifications. Refer to paragraph 3.0 for specific requirements for the touch-wall. 2.0. Purpose: The purpose of this RFI is to seek information on current and existing technologies (to include minor modifications to existing technologies) that can be used to meet the capabilities described in paragraph 3.0. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes. It does not constitute a solicitation (Request for Proposal or Request for Quotations) or a promise to issue a solicitation in the future. This RFI does not commit the USAF to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. At this time, proposals are not requested. Responders are advised the USAF will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI. All costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the responder's expense. The USAF will not be obligated to pursue any particular acquisition alternative as a result of this RFI. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future solicitation. All information received in response to this RFI that is marked PROPRIETARY will be handled accordingly. Proprietary information or trade secrets should be clearly identified. The USAF will not be liable for or suffer any consequential damages for any proprietary information not properly identified. Proprietary information will be safeguarded in accordance with the applicable government regulations. 3.0. Multi-Touch Wall to replace 4'x8' whiteboard: The following list includes the minimum/maximum criteria that must be met: Specifications: 1 - Free-standing multi-touch wall 2 - Display: 1920x1080 Full HD 3 - Brightness: 400 nits 4 - Contrast Ratio: 2,000:1 5 - Touch Input: Fingers, stylus, gloved hand 6 - Touch Points: Unlimited 7 - Touch Precision: sub-pixel 8 - Touch Response Time: <15ms 9 - Surface: anti-smudge/glare, hard coat, disinfectant cleanable 10 - Dimension (inches): (WxHxD) from (71x44x<7) to (96x48x<7), multiple thin bezel displays would be acceptable 11 - Power: 110VAC 50/60Hz 12 - Multiple Video Inputs: 4 or more simultaneous HD feeds 13 - Total Depth: 12 Inches - rules out any type of rear projection display 14 - Target User Application: Microsoft Visio Additional (must include): 1 - Installation 2 - Setup 3 - Orientation Training 4.0. SUBMISSION OF RESPONSES: ALL RESPONSES SHALL BE SUBMITTED VIA EMAIL Responses to this RFI should be submitted no later than 1600 EST, 29 July 2011 to the following e-mail address: ryan.bradley@langley.af.mil. Responses must meet all of the above criteria in Section 3.0. Proprietary information shall be clearly marked. Responses to the RFI shall include the following: Submitter's Name Street Address, City, State, Zip code Point of Contact (POC) POC Telephone and facsimile numbers. Firms responding should indicate if they are a small business, a socially and economically disadvantaged business, 8(a) firms, historically black colleges or universities, and minority institutions.
