- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This is a solicitation W81K00-11-T-0113 of purchase request GFEBS 0010051832 issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-33. The associated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 423450. Size standard is 100 employees. This RFQ is being issued as Firm Fixed Price, Unrestricted. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the agency. The requirements of this solicitation are for a Bioadhesive Air Leak Sealant. The base period of performance is 1 October 2011 through 30 September 2012, plus four (4) 12-month option periods. In an effort to continue to provide worldclass healthcare to the warfighter, Southern Regional Contracting Office (West) intends to procure a hydrogel sealant designed to seal air leaks incurred during pulmonary surgery. Air leaks are the number one complication associated with pulmonary surgery and often lead to other complications (e.g. infections, pneumonia, empyema) that intensify and lengthen hospital stay, as well as increase treatment costs.
