- DREDGING, MISSISSIPPI RIVER, READS LANDING, MINNESOTA. Work consists of, but is not limited to, furnishing all plant, labor, material and equipment necessary to apply hydraulic dredging methods to transport large volumes of stockpiled and shoaled sand approximately 2+ miles to a final placement site located near Wabasha, MN. Dredging operations will occur at approximately UMR 763 on the left descending bank in Pool 4 (across the Mississippi River from Reads Landing, MN). The maximum total volume of sand to be dredged and/or transferred is estimated to be 1.4 million cubic yards. A submerged pipeline is required to allow continued operation of the navigation channel. The Contractor's work may be interrupted for up to two weeks to accommodate Government dredging operations at the temporary placement site. The estimated price range for this project is between $5 million and $10 million. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 237990 with a small business size standard of $20 million. To be considered small, a firm must perform at least 40 percent of the volume dredged with its own equipment or equipment owned by another small dredging concern. This Solicitation will be issued as an Invitation for Bid (IFB) and will be issued unrestricted. It is expected that the Solicitation will be issued on or about August 10, 2011.
