- Description
- Work includes reconstruction of existing waterbars, installation of needed waterbars, installation of water crossing, brushing, logging out, replacement signage, tread work (reconstruction and heavy maintenance), minor relocation of trails around washouts and installation of new trailhead signage. The contractor is responsible for all labor, equipment and materials to complete project. Project is located in wilderness area and all work conducted within those boundaries contractor is required to use only hand labor and no machinery within wilderness area. LOCATION Caribou Wilderness boundary approach is to turn off State Highway 36 onto the "10 road" which travels north. This turnoff is 5 miles east of Chester and isn't marked. There is a turnoff to the south onto A-13 to the Almanor Peninsula. This can be used as a reference point. After you proceed left, make a second left and the next right, and this will take you to the Hay Meadows Trailhead, the Caribou Trailhead, and the Cone Lake Trailhead, which is at the north end of the wilderness. The estimated price range is $250,000 to $500,000. This solicitation will be available for electronic download on or around 07/29/2011.
