- LOCKER SHOCK TESTING The Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City is soliciting proposals on the basis of full and open competition for shock testing of 2 ea heavy duty lockers and two heavy duty bases. The lockers to be shock tested are the MDL 9, MDL-9 Adapter Kit, MDL-16 and the MDL-16 Adapter Kit. Rigorous testing and evaluation must be conducted on these lockers in order to earn safety and functionality certification that will allow installation on Navy and other vessels. Contractor support is required to perform extensive shock testing in accordance with MIL-S-901D. In performance of the shock testing, the lockers will be mounted on an appropriate floating platform and tested together, as they would be on a naval vessel, in a pond and subjected to a series of explosion induced shocks in accordance with MIL-S-901D. The impacts on the locker shall be investigated and documented by the contractor. Additionally, contractor support is required to design and fabricate a test fixture, in accordance with MIL-S-901D, to adequately test Locker MDL-16 and Locker MDL-9 Adapter Kit. The Statement of Work and drawings will be available after release of the solicitation. Requests must contain the vendors Contractor and Government Entity (cage) Code to be considered eligible. Award will be made to the offeror who meets the requirements of FAR Subpart 9.1, Responsible Prospective Contractor, and whose proposal is determined to be technically acceptable, low price. Award is anticipated by Aug 1, 2011.
