- Description
- Purpose: The General Service Administration, National Capital Region, Public Buildings Service, DC Service Center (GSA, NCR, PBS, WPMD) is issuing this Request for Information (RFI) to confirm there are at least two responsible 8(a) firms able and interested in providing mechanical operation and maintenance (O&M) services for a facility approximately 860,000 square feet in size located in Washington, DC. The 8(a) firm will be required to provide all management, supervision, labor, materials, supplies, and equipment, and shall plan, schedule, coordinate and assure effective performance of all operation and mechanical maintenance services. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 811310. This RFI is a request for interested 8(a) businesses to describe their technical capabilities and demonstrated experience in the area of mechanical O&M services. Interested 8(a) contractors are requested to provide a written response to the requested information below to assist in determining the potential levels of interest, adequate competition, and technical capability within the 8(a) business community to provide the required services. Interested 8(a) businesses are to submit a written response (maximum 10 pages): 1. Describing their knowledge and capability to provide mechanical operation and maintenance services inclusive of the following areas: •a) electrical systems and equipment, •b) mechanical systems and equipment, •c) fire protection systems and equipment, •d) control systems, •e) architectural and structural systems, fixtures, and equipment, •f) service call desk operations including record keeping and automated maintenance management systems, •g) maintenance of landscape irrigation systems (excluding sprinkler heads). 2. P roviding recent (within the past five years or work that is on-going) and relevant experience (work similar in type and scope) to include contract numbers, project titles, dollar amounts, and points of contact with telephone numbers where the responder performed the relevant work. 3. Demonstrating the company's ability to perform in accordance with the Limitations on Subcontracting clause (FAR 52.219-14) Submit responses to this RFI to michelle.mock@gsa.gov by 2:00pm EST on July 19, 2011. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI or reimburse any costs associated with the preparation of responses to this RFI. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation. All information received in response to this RFI marked proprietary will be handled accordingly. Responses to the RFI will not be returned. Whatever information is provided in response to this RFI will be used to assess the 8(a) business market in the areas of operation and mechanical maintenance. In accordance with FAR 15.201(e), responses to this RFI are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract.
