Description
SYNOPSIS Construction Work on Lock and Dam No. 27 For Embedded Metals Repairs Total dollar amount being proposed: $1,000,000.00 - $5,000,000.00 Place of Performance: Locks and Dam No. 27 located on the Mississippi River's Chain of Rocks Canal near Granite City, Illinois Support the Requirements: This contract consists of demolition, concrete, metal work, painting and dewatering on Locks and Dam No. 27 on the Lower Mississippi River located in Granite City, Illinois. Remarks: On or about 25 July 2011, the St. Louis, MO District contracting office will issue a Request For Proposal (RFP) which will contain plans and specifications for the construction work on Locks and Dam No. 27. The work includes, but is not limited to, localized dewatering of navigation lock walls using cofferdams, concrete sawcutting, concrete removal and replacement including drilling of concrete anchors and reinforcement installation, removal and replacement of structural steel and steel armoring, and grinding of concrete. Please be advised this work consists of concrete removal across the entire lock site. The contractor is to replace all damaged metals at the site. Once metals are replaced, the contractor is to replace all concrete. Floating plant will be required for all work. All work shall be done by the use of cofferdams to dewater certain areas of the lock. While the contractor is in the main chamber, the contractor is to provide a helper boat to assist traffic with navigating through the auxiliary chamber. The stationing and dimensions shown on the contract and reference drawings for the existing structure have been taken from the original contract drawings and the shop drawings for the original construction. The contractor shall verify all the above stationing and dimensions and shall be responsible for making the new material and work fit the existing conditions. Paper copies of this solicitation and its amendments will not be available or issued. Contractors may view and/or download this solicitation and all amendments, if any. This solicitation will be open for all businesses participation only under the NAICS Code 237990. Please be advised of on-line registration requirement in the central Contractor Registration (CCR) database http://www.ccr.gov/ and directed solicitation provisions concerning electronic annual On-line Representations and Certification (ORCA) at http://orca.bpn.gov. Representations and Certifications are required to be updated annually as a minimum to keep information current, accurate and complete. The electronic annual representations and certifications are effective until one year from date of submission or update to ORCA.
