- Description
- VA Palo Alto Center for Health Care Evaluation seeks sources for advanced research scholarship dealing with the impact of trauma exposure and psychiatric illness on female veterans in the area of gynecological health. Experience with Obstetrics/Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences is sought, as well as evidence of scholarly productivity in the domain of women's cancers, particular expertise in cervical cancer etiology, epidemiology, best screening practices and contemporary screening guidelines. The sources sought would be able to assist with developing a research funding proposal designed to investigate the intersection between military sexual violence and posttraumatic stress disorder. Emphasis would be on the development of gynecological cancers in postmenopausal women veterans, evaluating how a historical lifestyle factor modifies this risk. Work will be done under advanced consultation. Key areas of guidance will be on clinical interpretation of research findings, guidance on matters of study design and research methodology for the proposed work and creation of a funding proposal. Deliverables: "Review and Synthesis of Relevant Literature: September 30, 2011 "Development of Study Design and Research Methodology: February 1, 2012 "Development and Submission of Pilot Manuscripts: March 30, 2012 "Completion of Study Funding Proposal: June 30, 2012 Period of Performance: 253 hours of work are requested for an 10 month period.
