- With this announcement, the Chicago District Corps of Engineers issues a Pre-solicitation Notice for its West Street Improvements Section 219 Project located in the City of Crown Point, IN. The Contractor will perform work including the installation of new storm sewers, drainage structures, water mains, and sanitary sewer adjustments. The project will also consist of patching and resurfacing of West Street from approximately 100 feet north of West Joliet Street (SR 231) to Robinson Street and total HMA street reconstruction for Robinson to Anderson Street and incidental related work. The Classification Code for this procurement is North American Industry System (NAICS) 237110 - "Water and Sewer Line and Related Structures Construction", this acquisition is a SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE. The Small Business Size Standard is $33.5 Million. The estimated magnitude of the proposed procurement is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. The Invitation for Bid (IFB) Package will be downloadable from the INTERNET ONLY. The project specification files are Portable Document Format (PDF) files and can be viewed, navigated or printed using Adobe Acrobat Reader. Interested Bidders will be able to download the IFB Package from the Internet Site -- Federal Business Opportunities. The Chicago District anticipates issuing this solicitation during the month of August 2011. Thus, an update to this pre-solicitation notice will be provided at the latter part of this month, July 2011. In order for contractors to conduct business with the Department of Defense, the contractor must provide registration information to the Central Contractor Registration (CCR).
