- Presolicitation synopsis for Mayhill Fire Rehabilitation Erosion Barriers & Checkdams Log Erosion Barriers & Checkdam Project: The project is for the control of water flow and sedimentation catchments in McGee Canyon and the upslope side of Cherry Canyon beside McGee Road. These areas contain post-fire high and moderate severity burn areas on the Mayhill Fire burn area. This work will be done to slow water velocity in the canyon, protect downstream structures and values, and allow for some sediment catchment due to post-fire conditions. The project will include construction of Log Erosion Barriers in McGee Canyon, and smaller log checkdams in the portion of Cherry Canyon along McGee Road. The project location is closest to the nearest town of Mayhill, New Mexico.
