- Request for Information for a Tactical Computer for Integration into Army Aviation Avionics Systems 1.0 Subject Integrating an independent computer for system processing for aviation systems is an ongoing need for the Army. Therefore, a request is being submitted for information concerning a commercial ruggedized tactical computer which will satisfy the integration, interface and processing requirements as detailed in this document. 2.0 Requirements i.COTS - This effort shall not require development costs or time ii.Military standard (MIL STD) connectors iii.Weight requirement: no more than 7.0 lbs iv.Physical dimension: no more than 135 in3 v.Physical mounting capability suitable for installation onto pallet or plate meeting aviation structural requirements vi.Interface Control Document (ICD), Mechanical and Electrical available for review vii.Capability to run on 28VDC viii.Capability to meet MIL-STD Environmental and Electrical Interface requirements (reference MIL-STD 810 & MIL-STD 461) ix.Minimum specifications: a.1.6 GHz multicore X86 compatible processor b.4 GB RAM c.128 GB Internal SSD d.RS-422 Interface e.Ethernet Interface f.VGA display interface 3.0 Desired Specifications i.Removable/Flash Media The component must have some source of removable storage device. This would include, but would not be limited to: SD Card slot, removable hard drive, etc. ii.Environmentally Qualified with documentation MIL-STD-810G (810F is acceptable, 810G is preferred) iii.Electrical Interference Qualified with documentation MIL-STD-461F (461E is acceptable; 461F is preferred) iv.No Display is preferred v.Additional external high speed serial interfaces. This would include but would not be limited to: USB, firewire, esata, etc. 4.0 Recommended Response To allow for clear, concise responses, please provide no more than two pages of clarification/explanation of the component to include historical usage, if any. This portion of the response should clarify how the component meets all the above requirements. In addition, please provide the mechanical and electrical ICDs, to include electrical pin outs, as well as any documentation showing test results from qualification testing. ICDs and test results do not count towards the two page summary of the component. 5.0 Information Exchange Meetings AATD does not intend to host an information exchange meeting to discuss this RFI with interested potential respondents. 6.0 Disclaimer This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation. All information received in response to this RFI that is marked Proprietary will be handled accordingly. Responses to the RFI will not be returned. In accordance with FAR 15.201(e), responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract.
