- ***ONLY SEND CORRESPONDANCE TO SABRINA PEARSON AT SABRINA.M.PEARSON@NASA.GOV OR VIAFAX 256-544-6560***NASA/MSFC has a requirement for the COMSOL, Inc. license renewal for the followingsoftware packages: COMSOL Multiphysics Floating Network licenses, Structural MechanicsModule; ACIDC Module, Chemical Reaction Engineering Modules, Heat Transfer Module,Material Library, RF Module, Optimization Module, Acoustics Module, CFD Modules, LiveLinkfor Matlab and LiveLink for Inventor.NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the items from COMSOL, Inc. on a sole source basis. MSFCcurrently leases these software packages. Market research indicates that COMSOL, Inc. isuniquely capable of providing the required analysis capability and that the COMSOLsoftware is available solely through the product manufacturer, COMSOL, Inc.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to Sabrina Pearson no later than 12 NOON CST on 7/11/2011 tosabrina.m.pearson@nasa.gov. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely forthe purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitivebasis.A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a fulland open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within thediscretion of the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable.
