Description
The Department of the Interior/National Business Center/Aviation Management's Alaska Region Office in Anchorage, Alaska, has three airplanes, two of which are damaged, for sale on http://gsaauctions.gov under Sale Number N1AMDI11004 (Lots 001, 002, and 003). The individual auctions will begin on Friday, July 1, 2011 and end on Friday, July 15, 2011. The aircraft are in preview status on the main GSA Auctions website until the auctions begin. You may view photos and additional information about each aircraft by clicking on the aircraft pictures. Aircraft records and log books will be available at the Alaskan Regional Office during inspection. These aircraft will be sold as-is/where-is. Warning to purchasers/recipients: The aircraft you have purchased or received in an exchange may not be in compliance with applicable FAA requirements. You are solely responsible for bringing the aircraft into compliance with 14 CFR Chapter I, or other applicable standards, by obtaining all necessary FAA inspections or modifications. Lot 1 (N1AMDI11004001) 1983 Cessna A185F Skywagaon, N714KH, S/N 18504400. This aircraft was in service up to the time of the expiration of its last annual inspection on Oct 31, 2005. The aircraft was then parked until present date. The engine has 1721.5 hours since its last overhaul in August 1998. The engine is only four pointed on the engine mount and requires additional installation work. The McCauley Model D3A34C401-C propeller was overhauled on April 2, 2002, and has 337.0 hours since being overhauled. Lot 2 (N1AMDI11004002) Damaged 1999 Husky A-1B, N37HY, S/N 2037. WARNING! Aircraft was damaged during a landing rollover event on a dirt runway. The aircraft was dismantled and transported to Anchorage. The propeller, wings, top deck, and tail section are damaged. The aircraft's complete condition is unknown and requires a detailed inspection to determine the full extent of damage. Both propeller blades were sheared off at the hub, and the spinner is dented. The engine would require a prop strike inspection as required in AD 2004-10-14. Both wings have compression damage to the top of some of the ribs and leading edge dents. All wing struts are bent from compression loads. The windshield and skylight are broken. There is damage to skylight support structure, vertical stabilizer, and rudder. Parts known to be missing include the tail wheel assembly, one aileron, and the ELT. This is NOT a complete description of the condition of this aircraft. Potential buyers are encouraged to perform an on-site detailed inspection of this aircraft prior to bidding. Lot 3 (N1AMDI11004003) Damaged 1981 Cessna A185F Skywagon, N95630, S/N 18504334. WARNING! Aircraft was damaged during a water landing rollover event where the aircraft hit the lake bank and rolled over onto its back on tundra. The aircraft was then dismantled and transported to Anchorage. The aircraft had damage to the propeller, wings, and tail section. The propeller was severely damaged and is no longer part of this sale. The actual condition of the aircraft is unknown and would require a detailed inspection to determine the full extent of the damage. The engine would require a prop strike inspection as required in AD 2004-10-14. Both wings have compression damage to the top surface and wing tip rib damage. R/H Elevator and Vertical top damaged. Firewall and Boot Cowl skins show signs of buckling. FWD Lower side of tail cone is dented and buckled. Rear float attach point is pushed in and Vee-brace is bent. Missing parts include radios, interior panels, ELT, propeller and spinner assembly. This is NOT a complete description of the condition of this aircraft. Potential buyers are encouraged to perform an on-site detailed inspection of this aircraft prior to bidding.
