- Description
- THIS IS A PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE. The mission of MSHA is to administer the provisions of the Federal Mine Safety and Health Act of 1977 (Mine Act), as amended by the Mine improvement and New Emergency Response Act of 2006 (MINER Act) and to enforce compliance with mandatory safety and health standards as a means to eliminate fatal accidents; to reduce the frequency and severity of nonfatal accidents; to minimize health hazards; and to promote improved safety and health conditions in the Nation's mines. To help achieve these goals, MSHA relies on information technology (IT) to assist in preparation of reports, the processing of data, etc. This acquisition is being conducted to obtain laptop/desktop computers, flat panel monitors, and inkjet/LaserJet printers to replace existing systems that are beyond their useful life and no longer meet current minimum technical requirements. This solicitation will be issued in accordance with the policies and procedures pursuant to FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items; and, in conjunction with the policies and procedures in FAR Subpart 19.805, The Competitive 8(a) Program. This acquisition is 100% set-aside for 8(a) firms and the applicable NAICS Code is 423430 with a size standard of 100.employees. Services and Delivery of items will be performed at MSHA headquarters' location in Arlington VA and various field locations throughout the U.S. MSHA contemplates to award a single or multiple Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract as a result of the solicitation. The contract period of performance is for one (1) base year and four- (4) twelve-month option periods. MSHA is issuing the solicitation only electronically on or about July 18, 2011. Interested parties may access the solicitation at www.fedbizopps.gov. This site provides instruction for downloading the solicitation. There will be no bidders' list for this procurement and no hard copies will be provided. The proposal due date is schedule for on or about August 5, 2011. Services and delivery under the anticipated awarded contract is schedule to start on or around September 15, 2011. Please direct all questions to Meredith C.
