Description
The Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) Military Satellite Communications Systems Directorate intends to modify the existing Communications Analysis, Systems Integration, and Engineering Services (CASIES) contract, FA8808-06-C-0002, to increase the period of performance for the Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) program, Enhanced Polar System (EPS) program, and the Chief Engineering program (EN) for a total of one year under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 6.302-1(a)(2). The modification for extension of CASIES support will be issued to the incumbent contractor, LinQuest Corporation, 5140 Goldleaf Circle, Los Angeles CA, 90056-1299. The purpose of this action is to authorize an extension for the period of performance of one year to continue support on the CASIES contract to meet Military Satellite Communications Systems Directorate mission needs. This modification does not add new requirements to, but extends the period of performance for the CASIES contract. The Military Satellite Communications Systems Directorate issued a sources sought synopsis on 15 April 2005 to solicit input from industry and examined the acquisition history of this type of support to the Advanced Extremely High Frequency program, Enhanced Polar System program, and the Chief Engineering program. Three companies replied to the synopsis, LinQuest was ultimately awarded the contract. The program office maintains cognizance over the protected Satellite Communications market and has seen no other companies emerge with the capability to meet these requirements without incurring a significant duplication of costs and unacceptable schedule impact to the program. This notice is for information purposes only and the Government will not recognize any cost associated with submission of information in response to this or previous notices. In accordance with FAR 5.207(c)(16)(ii), all responsible sources may submit a capability statement which shall be considered by the agency. In addition, responses from qualified small and small disadvantaged businesses are encouraged. Award of this action is intended for a date of no later than 1 October 2011. Submit all inquiries or responses to this notice to the Procurement Contracting Officer, Jeffrey W. Dedrick. Email: Jeffrey.Dedrick@losangeles.af.mil. Mailing Address: SMC/PKJ Attn: Jeffrey W. Dedrick, 483 N. Aviation Blvd., Suite 2142-A8, Los Angeles Air Force Base, El Segundo, California 90245-2808.
